Grove Street Primary School
I'm delighted and incredibly proud, as the Headteacher, to welcome you to Grove Street Primary School. Our school ensures that the child and their family are at the very centre of everything we do. We are a school family at the heart of our community. Our vision is that we go above and beyond to support our children and families.

At our core is our belief that mental health and wellbeing weaves through all aspects of school. We value every child's uniqueness, as such, we discuss every child, as an individual every half term to talk about their wellbeing, involvement, attendance, progress, friendships, any concerns and planned actions to support.
Services
We are extremely privileged to support children at the very beginning of their learning journey at Grove Street. We provide 15 hours per week of high-quality care and education, with a focus on learning through play. We are a friendly and dedicated team that are commited to providing the best possible experiences for both children and parents.
Our nursery provides high quality care and education for all children aged three to four with a qualified teacher who specialises in Early Years supported by a team of talented support staff who have a wealth of experience and a passion for working with children in the Early Years.

We pride ourselves in the safe, calm and nurturing environment that promotes the mental health and wellbeing of all our wonderful children who attend and places focus on children's personal, social and emotional development as a foundation for all learning.
Miss Kingsley, Miss Lambert and Miss Harrison are thrilled to be making the Reception year of 2020-2021 fun-filled and interesting! We are planning lots of exciting learning opportunities tailored specifically to engage our fabulous family of learners. Here in the Foundation Stage we have lots of fun learning through play and exploration.
We are very excited about the school year ahead and we promise to make it as fun and as exciting as possible for our lovely children. Please make sure you are signed up to school spider for all school updates. Make sure you are also logged in to class dojo as we update this regularly. With class dojo you have the opportunity to message us with any questions you have regarding your child.
Our current PE day is Thursday and on this day we invite children to attend school in their PE kits. As the weather begins to turn cooler we recommend children attend in warmer tracksuit bottoms and jackets as shorts will not keep them warm throughout the day. We will be sending Read Write Inc. story books home with your children on a Friday every week.

I have worked in the capacity as a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist with my company Thumbs Up over the course of the last few years. Each time I have worked in there, I have been incredibly impressed with the resilience and determination of the wonderful children that attend Grove Street. New Ferry hasn’t had an easy time over the last year or so, and to see the enthusiasm and the smiles on the children is - on occasions, overwhelming. So who is responsible for this? Of course the fantastic teachers who instil a level of respect, kindness and humour that is quite obviously having a huge impact

It is a wonderful, very community minded school that provides a lot of before and after school activities for the children, and at lunch times. They participate in lots of community activities and events too. I would recommend this school to anyone who believes in community spirit :)

I didn't like this school partly because the teachers don't sort out bullying. this was my old primary school and i got bullied constantly. The headteacher doesn't sort anything out at all. I wouldn't recommend this school for children.
