St Werburgh's R C Primary School
St Werburgh's Catholic Primary School is a little oasis in the heart of Birkenhead. We are an integral part of the parish family of St Werburgh & St Laurence and work in close partnership with our families, governors and the wider community. We are an inclusive, one form entry school with children ranging from age two to eleven years old.

We are extremely proud of our diverse, cultural heritage - celebrating the shared and varied experiences that bring us together under one roof. As a school community, we work together to ensure that all our pupils aspire to become compassionate global citizens, 'sowing the seeds of goodness'. We know that the light of Christ shines in our lives and in our learning and we strive to be the very best that we can be in all that we do.

We want St Werburgh's to take your child on a fulfilling journey in which they grow, not only academically, but grow also in their personality and character. We want them to not only excel in literacy and numeracy, but also possess good personal qualities, values, attitudes and skills that are essential for a fulfilling life and successful learning for the future.
At St Werburgh's Catholic Primary School we are committed to providing all pupils with the skills, knowledge and ambition to succeed in life and be global disciples of Christ. Our curriculum is rooted in the teachings of the Gospel. We pride ourselves on our inclusivity and respect for all, celebrating diversity and promoting an awareness and understanding of our shared and different cultural heritage.
Ofsted 2018 Pupils are well behaved, polite and friendly. Their understanding of different faiths, religions and different types of families is strong. St Werburgh's School follows the religious education scheme "The Way, The Truth and The Life". The series is based on the Religious Education Curriculum Directory for Catholic schools.
Early mathematical skills are taught through practical, hands-on experiences of using, comparing and calculating with numbers and quantities in order to establish the best mathematical start. In the early years and key stage one we ensure the children develop a mastery of number and place value in order to provide a firm foundation for the rest of the maths curriculum.
