Following our latest inspection, we are pleased to announce our school is 'outstanding in all areas'. Thank you for all your support. My name is Mrs Thomas and I have the privilege of being the Head Teacher of Mersey Park Primary School. We are very proud of our school and its community. We promote a friendly family atmosphere where everyone is encouraged to show care for each other.
We aim to ensure that everyone in our school feels safe and secure in their learning environment. We also promote high standards of achievement for all, encouraging pupils to work hard and persevere at tasks they may find difficult. Our three main values 'Be Nice', 'Work Hard' and 'Never Give Up' are central to everything we do and all children have been involved in deciding what these values mean to them.

Working in partnership with parents, foster a supportive environment that will teach all learners to be resilient and understand that there is no limit to their learning. Engage all learners in a creative, fun and challenging curriculum that equips them with adaptable skills for their futures. Encourage children to make decisions for themselves and acquire the skills to become confident, independent learners.
We believe that students deserve a broad and ambitious History curriculum, rich in skills and knowledge, which immerses students in a range of cultures and engenders an enquiring and critical outlook on the world. Our History curriculum gives students the opportunity to explore issues at a local, national and international level from the ancient era through to the twentieth century.
The DfE have recently reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." At Mersey Park these values are reinforced regularly and in the following ways.
Governors are the formal strategic body who meet once each term to set priorities for the school and agree on the long term plans including the school budget. Our Governors are volunteers from the local school community who work together to ensure that the school is well managed. The Headteacher and representatives from the school work force are also members of the Governing Body.
At Mersey Park we are keen to remember our roots. We use various resources in school topics to research the history of the school building and the people who have previously been involved at the school. This might be records from the head teacher's log book, old drawings of the school, memories from past staff, details of pupils who have attended the school or a wider range of artefacts.
