I qualified from Bristol University Vet School (way back) in 1993, and there followed a varied career working with different animal species, from cats and dogs to cows, sheep and horses, in England and Scotland, before settling back in the South West in 2000. I am a true general practitioner who loves the job with a passion, and the variety of work we get to do.
I joined Watkins and Tasker Vets in 2005 after completing my Veterinary Nursing Degree. I have managed the Portishead branch as Head Nurse for 10 years and am now our Group Head of Nursing. My role alongside nursing duties is to support the nursing teams and ensure we always provide the highest level of care to your pets.
I am the Operations Director for the whole Practice. I qualified as an Event Manager from Portsmouth University in 2005 with First Class Honours and after a variety of other jobs worked for the British Small Animal Veterinary Association organising the exhibition at the annual BSAVA Congress which many of the team have attended over the years.
We always try to offer great value for money but sometimes we can run some really special offers. A free health check 6 months later. This appointment is general health check. Pets on long term medication must be examined at least twice a year. This free check can be used as the repeat prescription check normally costing 32.50.

When your dog has had major surgery & they are shaking and distressed and you have to hold them upside down in the street in front of others paying for their treatments to have a dressing removed ! Me thinks this is probably the sort of treatment you would receive if you were living in a developing country. Then to notice that half the dressings haven't been removed. Sadly no compassion either offered to my wonderful dog. Overall, post operative check experience very DISAPPOINTING. Next check in a weeks time but I wont be rushing back especially as they couldn't be bothered to book another appointment

I wasn't prepared for the outstanding level of service we recieved at Watkins and Tasker.
We'd been taking our ginger Tom ”Minky” here for years and had built a rapport with the staff. Sadly Minky was getting on in years and had become incontinent and arthritic.
It got to the point where we thought he was in too much pain so we bit the bullet and went to the Vet.
Prepared for the worst we were absolutely delighted when Dr Neil our usual vet let us know that as Minky's brain was still as good as a cat half his age. He could rebuild him.
Thanks to Watkins and Tracker Minky is fully loving
