Clifton Veterinary Practice
Recently our beloved 14 year old Labrador became really poorly and Clifton Vets went out of their way to not only ensure not only she was comfortable but also that our children understood what was happening and could grieve for her as they wanted. Clearly empathy is one of many skills Mr Pickering has in abundance.

If you are looking for a vet for your family pet then Clifton Vets should be the first place you call. James is an exceptional vet. We've been taking our cat to this practice for years and now with a new puppy, they've been equally brilliant. We have been taking our pet rabbits and pet dog to Clifton Vets for the past 4 years and find the vets very good.
Services
Here at the Clifton Veterinary Practice we are a small independently run, friendly clinic based in Clifton. Our aim at the practice is to provide the best possible care for our patients and their owners and we thrive in being able to offer a personal service. We are competitive on price and, although being based in Clifton, we pride ourselves on being able to cater to you and your pet's needs at an incredibly affordable price.
We've partnered with Video Vets Now so you can speak to a vet from home or out and about - 7 days a week between 8am and 11pm. Consults are 10 mins and cost 24. If your pet needs to be seen by us or Vets Now, your original 24 payment will be refunded. We partnered with Video Vets Now to help you get the advice and reassurance you need, wherever you are.
We believe that nutrition is an important part of keeping pets healthy and can also play a vital part in the treatment of some illnesses. This is why we stock a select range of cat and dog pet food in practice, helping to take the faff out of pet food for our clients by recommending diets that have been scientifically created to provide optimal nutrition, which tastes great!
If you have an out-of-hours emergency, you can call our normal number for details of how to contact the emergency service. If your pet requires ongoing care, Vets Now will provide us with a full handover including the results of any treatment and investigations. This allows us to maintain continuity.
As pet owners, we endeavour to make sure that our faithful companions stay fit and healthy, enabling them to live to an old age. Unfortunately, our pets do not live as long as us and at some point, we will have to prepare to let them go. Sadly, few of our pets pass peacefully away in their sleep. Therefore, we all wish to do the right thing at the right time, fulfilling our responsibility and commitment in their final days.

We went to this vets twice for our hamster. The first time was fine, vet thought he might have a skin infection around an eye and under his chin and gave us antibiotics.
Two weeks later as the antibiotics did nothing we went back and were given two new products to try on our hamster. The vet who attended us was visibly confused, and instead of directly referring us to a specialist vet thought we should just try these new products (and obviously charge us for it).
These new products (eye drops and cleanser) seem to have made our hamster's health much much worse, as he very quickly went from looking

James has been wonderful and so helpful with giving advice and makings plan for my fear aggressive dog. She is wonderful but the outside world can be too much for her, which is heartbreaking. James has been supportive with starting her on an appropriate medication, alongside training. The whole team are lovely.

Never seen the same vet twice, as far as i can tell only locum vets work at this practice. Have to re-explain history every time.
The vets are not bad, just not ever the same person.

Myself and other customers at this veterinary have recently found out this vet is charging its poor clients a minimum TWICE THE PRICE FOR MEDICATION AND UP TO 2.5 PRICE IN MANY CASES!!!!
We can agree that professionals in the sciences and medicines are expected to charge for their specialised service, fine, BUT CHARGING innocent customers that trust doctors and vets 100-150% PROFIT MARGIN NOT WHOLESALE BUT WHAT YOU CAN BUY ELSEWHERE WITH A PRESCRIPTION is BOTH DISGUSTING MEDICAL PRACTICE AND UNETHICAL!
1.WHEN YOU SEE THIS VETERINARY DO NOT BUY THE MEDICATION OR JUST BUY ENOUGH FOR 48 HOURS.

The Owner James is a fantastic Vet, who always goes the extra mile to help. Assistant vets are nice, and Reception staff & Nurses are lovely. (James is expert in small furry pets & birds, which is unusual for these days due to the prevalence of cats/dogs in practices)

The vets and nurses here are brilliant. So warm and friendly. They've known our 2 year-old boys since they were kittens and know them and us by name.

Lovely staff, lovely clinic and I’ve got 2 very happy cats. They’re not fearful of the clinic or carrier because they’re treated so lovingly here. Both Gizmo and Zelda are happy with our choice of vets, and so are we ☺️
