We would like to say a massive well done to Lacey, Jasmine, Anna, Monty, Jake and Harry who took part in the Kirklees Swimming Gala. They all managed to secure a place in the final. We are really proud of you all. If you know our school already, you will know we are a vibrant school community, with superb children who work really hard.

Services
Alongside this, we want school to be somewhere children are allowed, encouraged and shown how to experience the magic of being a child. We want to provide an inspiring and nurturing environment which gives our pupils a safe space to be children, feeds their curiosity and which fosters a love of learning.
Kirkheaton Primary School is all on one level. The whole school can be accessed by anyone with additional needs. There is a disabled toilet at the school. Parking for visitors can be arranged close to the school entrance by ringing the bell at the school gate. Kirkheaton Primary School is an inclusive place to be and we will endeavour to support all your additional needs - please discuss these with a member of staff at the school.
If your child needs mediation during the school day this can be brought into school for an agreed member of staff to administer. Medication brought into school needs to have a consent form signed by a parent. It must be handed over to a staff member in school and collected by an adult. If your child is on the bus we need to know they are bringing in medication so that we can take the medication off them when they arrive in school.
There are 60 places for children in each year group - this is our PAN (Pupil Admission Number). PAN is set by the local authority and it currently means there are two classes per year group in school. Our nursery numbers are slightly different and we currently have two groups of 24 children attending nursery either in the morning or the afternoon for 3 hours per day, 48 in total.
There may be times when you are unsure or unhappy about something which has happened in school. In the first instance, talk to your child's class teacher either by telephone or by dropping in to school. If you feel you have not reached a resolution this way, contact a senior leader in school. Mrs Fowler for anything Early Years related, Miss Bevan for Year 1 or Year 2, Mrs Gallant for Y3 or Y4 and Miss Lumb for Y5 and Y6.
