Services
This means that we can offer care 7.15am-6pm, Monday to Friday. There are good links with parents and other providers to determine the needs of children as they enter Nursery or join Reception. Children are cared for well, and relationships between adults and children are nurturing and warm. Children have positive attitudes to learning and behave well.
We would also encourage you to visit us as we are very proud of our school and love to show visitors around. If you think we have missed anything from this website or want to come and see us, please contact us. The admissions of pupils with a Statement of Special Educational Needs or with an EHC Plan are dealt with by a completely separate procedure.
All Saints' Catholic College in Huddersfield is our partner high school. We have strong links with them and have an excellent transition programme for our children. Teachers plan a variety of interesting activities which engage students and help them make good progress. At their 2018 Diocese of Leeds Inspection under Section 48 of the Education Act, All Saints' were graded as OUTSTANDING.
At St Joseph's, we try very hard to make sure everyone is kept up to date with what is happening in class, in school more generally and in our Parish. All our children take home a monthly newsletter and every half-term we send parents details of the work their children will be doing during the term and the average expectations of what a child in any year will be expected to achieve by the end of that year.
We encourage all families to walk some or all the way to school. We support walking as part of a healthy lifestyle, as well as to help the environment and reduce congestion from cars. A 'My Bus' school bus provides a service before and after school for our children and covers Crossland Moor, Lockwood, Newsome, Lowerhouses, Almondbury, Waterloo and Rawthorpe.
