At Welton we are passionate about children and childhood. We believe children should be nurtured yet challenged in a very special learning environment which values the uniqueness of each of our pupils. The Welton community is a learning community. To foster and develop the unique potential of all our pupils we provide an exceptional curriculum and approach to learning.
A key feature of our approach is to give pupils opportunities to engage in their learning through discussion and reflection ensuring they develop very well as learners; demonstrating the facility to think critically and creatively. Explicitly teaching children to think leads to improvements in their confidence, speaking and active listening skills which enable them to communicate constructively, solve problems and learn independently.

It has been tough not seeing you all and we know that for everyone at home it has been hard too. We are so lucky that we have such fabulous families at Welton who have worked so hard helping each other with their lessons. All the mums, dads, aunties, uncles and grandparents who have helped need a great big thank you and a great big hug too (from your children!).
Today's children and young people are growing up in an increasingly complex world and living their lives seamlessly on and offline. This presents many positive and exciting opportunities, but also challenges and risks. In this environment, children and young people need to know how to be safe and healthy, and how to manage their academic, personal and social lives in a positive way.
At Welton we are very proud of the engaging and exciting curriculum the children experience. Each theme is developed to facilitate the mastery of core skills as well as providing pupils with opportunities to investigate, apply knowledge, solve problems think and learn at the highest levels. All our curriculum planning is designed to meet the statutory requirements of the early years and national curriculum.
