At Francis Askew Primary School we make a positive difference to every child. Working together with parents, families and the community we create a positive, calm and nurturing environment where all members of the school community feel safe, valued and respected. Our curriculum nurtures curiosity, builds resilience, fosters independence and encourages children to aim high in all that they do.
We provide our children with wide ranging, enriching experiences, both in and out of school, and place a high value on developing and nurturing the whole child. We ensure that children's individual talents are celebrated and fostered in all areas of school life. We strongly believe in providing a high quality, holistic education, one which inspires a love of learning and equips our children with the skills they need for the future.

Services
Children should arrive through the first gate closest to the school (to the left of the main entrance). Key stage 2 children will be collected and dismissed by their teachers from the large playground. Please drop your children off there in a morning and wait there to collect them at the end of the day.
Each class in Key Stage 2 votes, at the beginning of the school year, for someone who will represent their views to the school staff. The school council are the voice of the children in the school and they collect the views of the pupils. They meet regularly with Miss Vincent. Children in the School Council are asked to carry out many duties on behalf of the other children.
Our Trust includes primary, secondary and an alternative provision school working together to provide the best learning opportunities for the pupils within our network of schools. Each school serves its own community and has its own unique identity. Together we benefit from working in partnership, share good practice and have a joint central service support team.
Parents were asked about the values they felt were most important for their children to live by. Children can gain house points for keeping the school values. The House with the most house points each term has a special treat eg a visit to Laserquest or bowling. Members of the winning House for the year have a trip out for the day, previously children have been to Scarborough.
This includes Bricknell, Appleton, Paisley, Stoneferry, Rokeby which are all primary schools and Victoria Dock, soon to join the Trust. We also work closely with the School Health team and have a nurse in school on a Thursday every week.
We work in partnership with Social services, mental health teams, support services for parents, Teeth team (Dental services), Hull Music Service, Hull Museum services, Hull Libraries and Hull Children's University amongst many others.
