Skidby Church Of England Voluntary Controlled Primary School
My name is Stuart Richardson and I feel truly privileged to be leading such a wonderful school and to have the opportunity of ensuring that each child at Skidby CE Primary receives the best possible education in their formative years. Skidby is a small primary school with around 80 children on roll split amongst four classes; in addition to this we have an independent nursery on site for those parents requiring pre-school provision.

Our website is only a glimpse of what we feel makes Skidby CE distinctive. The best way for you to appreciate what we can offer your child is to experience our school first hand. I do hope you will visit us to meet our children and staff and to experience life at our unique school.
Services
Every child is encouraged to reach their full potential and we recognise that every child is special and has their own contributions to make. Our staff are dedicated, hardworking, experienced and provide a safe, calm and caring atmosphere in school and foster a hardworking ethos based on an enjoyment of learning within a stable environment.
It is our goal that children, parents or adults with responsibility, staff and other adults at Skidby C. of E. School work together as a team to provide the highest level of education for all pupils. Our school offers a happy, secure and caring environment, which stimulates learning, encourages courtesy, a consideration for the needs of others and an understanding of the wider community.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children is everyone's responsibility. Everyone who comes into contact with children and their families and carers has a role to play in safeguarding children. Operation Encompass is a Police and Education early intervention safeguarding partnership which supports children and young people exposed to domestic abuse.
At Skidby CE Primary School, we strive to promote healthy and active lifestyles and aim to provide sporting opportunities for all our pupils. Schools have to spend their School Sports Grant funding on improving their provision of PE and sport, but they will have the freedom to choose how they do this.
SATs are statutory assessments carried out by all state schools. They assess how your child's abilities compare nationally with other children in the same year group. Your child will be assessed at Key Stage 1 (KS1) during Year 2, at age 7. Further SATs testing takes place at Key Stage 2 (KS2), when your child will take part in National Curriculum tests in English, maths and the new grammar test at the end of Year 6 (usually age 11).
