At Brough Primary School we believe that learning should be about the journey, not the destination. We believe that children should be given the opportunity to reach their full potential in all areas and we ensure they experience a wide range of learning opportunities to foster a lifelong love of learning and an enthusiasm for the world around them.
We work alongside families and the wider community to nurture children and support them in a caring and secure environment where everyone cares about and looks after each other. Through having high expectations for all children, exciting and engaging lessons and a clear focus on developing curiosity, independence and a love of learning, we allow children to reach their full potential and ensure they have the skills needed for the future.

Services
Brough Primary School is a larger than average primary school situated in a residential area in the village of Brough, East Yorkshire. Set within large grounds, we are lucky enough to have a school field, two playgrounds, a MUGA (multi-use games area), a gymnasium, a wildlife area and a separate dining hall on our site.
Working with the head teacher, we decide what we want Brough Primary School to achieve and set the framework to get there. In discussion with the head teacher, we set aims and objectives for the school, and agree policies, targets and priorities and then we monitor to see if these are being achieved.
Starting school is an exciting time for children and their families. A good partnership between home and school is essential for children to make the most progress with their education. Children only spend 20% of their time in school; parents play the biggest role in their child's life long learning.
Our School Council is an important part of our school life. We have been elected by our class to join together once a fortnight to have an open discussion where we discuss ideas sent from all classes to improve the school. Following each meeting a discussion point is sent to classes for them to chat about and come up with suggestions to return to the following School Council meeting where the cycle starts again.
