We are a friendly village nursery located in the village of Whitwell, in the parish of St Paul's Walden, near Hitchin. The children attending are aged between 2 and 5 years and come from the village of Whitwell, other surrounding villages and hamlets and the towns of Hitchin and Luton. From here the children go to a variety of schools in the area.
It is a private, community-run nursery, open 5 days a week and based in our own self-contained premises adjoining St Paul's Walden Primary School. We are lucky enough to be able to use the school hall, playing field and garden areas for some of our activities, and enjoy well-established links with the children and staff of the school.

Services
St Paul's Walden is a superb pre-school for children aged 2 to 5, in an idyllic village setting. All staff hold relevant childcare qualifications and regularly attend courses to update their knowledge and skills. Our setting uses a key person approach. This means that each member of staff has a group of children for whom she/he is particularly responsible.
Children will be offered 2 or 3 sessions per week initially, which can be increased to the full 5 sessions once they have settled, provided adequate places are available. We are able to accept payment through childcare vouchers, which some employers issue to their employees in part payment of their salary to provide childcare payment exempt of Tax and National Insurance.
We have a number of uniform items for sale: T-shirts (Red, Blue, Navy and Green), Fleece (Red) and book bags. Each week we will be asking the children each week to choose a book to take home and share with their parents. In each book bag there will be a children's reading record book for you to write in if you would like to.
