Roxbourne and the surrounding area were known as the 'metro lands'. The Metropolitan Line (London Underground) was extended to, what is now North London, around the early 1930s to allow for city commuters to have easy access to fast and efficient transport into the capital, yet live in more affordable areas.
When the line was extended, Roxbourne and the surrounding areas were little more than fields and heathlands. And this is exactly what happened. Apparently a Mr Nash began building the houses of the Roxbourne area around 1936 as demand for houses began to increase for this area, due to the close proximity to the Metropolitan line and the ease at which people could travel into London.

I believe in our school community's potential to achieve remarkable things. Everyone who is part of Roxbourne has made a commitment to working together to make it possible for all our pupils to achieve a fantastic education that prepares them for a happy and successful life. I am really pleased to share with you all the great things about our school and I hope that you will enjoy playing a key role in our continued success!
The governors are the strategic leaders of schools and they have a vital role to play in making sure every child gets the best possible education. The Governing Body is the school's key strategic decision making body. It has a collective, legal responsibility for the effective management of the school, acting within a framework established by national legislation and the school's agreed policies, and ensuring all statutory duties are met.
Recently, when the government reviewed the Primary National Curriculum, it also reviewed the way it directed schools to assess children. Instead of using levels, the government felt that each school was best placed to decide how to assess children. We have therefore established our own robust systems for assessing children and tracking their progress.
If your child is absent through sickness or any other reason please could you inform the school by telephone, e-mail or letter on the first morning before 9.15 am. If you do not contact the school you will receive a text message or telephone call asking you to explain your child's absence.
We do not encourage appointments to be made during school time, for those unavoidable appointments please inform the School Office of the date and time, preferably in writing.

The DfE have recently reinforced the need "to create and enforce a clear and rigorous expectation on all schools to promote the fundamental British values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty and mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs." The Government set out its definition of British values in the 2011 Prevent Strategy, and these values were reiterated in 2014.

I was sceptical when my daughter was offered a place here last year.I hoped for my daughter to attend an Outstanding Ofsted rated school. However, when I saw the reception area initially (so colourful and welcoming) and spoke to the teachers, I decided to give the place a chance. I am glad I did. My daughter loves her teachers and I can see the huge academic progress that she has made so far. Her behaviour also improved and she developed an interest in arts (ever more since the beginning of an art afterschool lessons this year). A million thanks to Mrs Pirmohamed for being strict and caring last

Firstly, I need to say that the school building itself is not great. However this could of changed as I was a former pupil who has finally got the courage to post the atrocity of this school. I do feel that the school did not have some common sense especially whilst planning the canteen. What kind of plonker said "Let's make the two mobiles into a canteen". But I do feel that some of the staff are quite helpfull and freindly. Furfthermore, I frequently question why they repeat the same asembleys and perfomances year in and year out however the kids put in maximum effort which is diminished by the
