Petts Hill Primary School is a one form entry school with class sizes no more than 30 and so each child is worth 3.3%. This information needs taking into account when looking at our data and that of other larger schools or the national perspective. Progress measures aim to capture the progress that pupils make from the end of Key Stage 1 (year 2) to the end of primary school.
All children may experience some difficulties in learning from time to time during their school life. We aim to provide equal access to the whole curriculum for all children including those with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND). All teaching staff are involved in the learning and development of pupils with SEND.
Petts Hill Primary School has a long standing commitment to supporting all our children to adopt healthy lifestyles. We work hard to help children stay healthy and happy as they grow up. Being healthy, safe, cared for, having a voice and influence are fundamental prerequisites to being 'ready to learn' and achieving true potential.
At Petts Hill Emotional Health and Well-Being (EHWB) is taught through the SEAL programme, Social and emotional aspects of learning. It particularly focusses on five social and emotional aspects of learning: self-awareness, managing feelings, motivation, empathy and social skills.

The SEAL materials help children develop skills such as understanding another's point of view, working in a group, sticking at things when they get difficult, resolving conflict and managing worries.SEAL is supported by our expectations for behaviour and behaviour code. Children at Petts Hill are also supported in developing good emotional health through the work of Place2be.
