The Staff and Governors at Stephenson Memorial are committed to providing a safe, secure environment which gives every child an opportunity to experience success through a rich and well balanced curriculum. We provide pastoral care to the highest level, and encourage parental involvement ensuring all children are supported with their progress regularly tracked and followed with interest.
We aim to help your child develop confidence, resilience and independent skills to prepare them for life-long learning. We are a collaborative learning community, which is an inclusive environment for all. When parents take a close interest in their child's education it encourages learning and its importance in later life, which is why parents are regularly invited into school to share in their child's education.

Stephenson Memorial has been recognised by Apple as a distinguished school for continuous innovation in learning, teaching and the school environment. We were invited to London to collect our accreditation - Mrs Lilico and Mrs Carr collected the certificate and banner to bring back to school. In the afternoon we took part in mixed age group 'Everyone Can Create' workshops (Music, Coding, Photo, Video and Drawing).
Our school is committed to real world learning opportunities that ignite students' passions. Learners are engaged in collaborative, self-directed learning where teachers act as facilitators. Our teachers 'really' know our children, how they learn best and what steers their engagement; our children will know they are known!
This academic year, we have introduced a new behaviour system in school, which we would like to share with you. We feel that these three rules encompass all of the positive behaviours which we would expect to see from all of our children. SAFE - to know that school is a safe place to be, to be safe with our friends, to act in a safe manner in school.
At Stephenson, we believe that all children are capable of achieving wonderful things. We are lucky to be a school full of individual and unique children. Inclusion, for us, in not always about giving all children the same, but giving them what they need in order to succeed. We embrace differences, and work together to enable all children reach their full potential.
At Stephenson Memorial Primary School we have carefully crafted a curriculum that embeds an innovative teaching and learning pedagogy, steeped in research, which reflects how the working world has changed in becoming an evermore interconnected global society. It is our moral imperative to prepare our community for this.
