Hebburn Lakes Primary School
Hebburn Lakes Primary is a happy, successful, supportive school where Everyone Cares and Everyone Matters. This week in 2 Red we have started our new Learning Means the World theme. We've started Inter-Nation Media Station by using different types of media and broadcasting to watch. We have settled into our new class so well and have been exploring and making new friends.

This week we have been looking at the story of the Three Little Pigs. In English we ordered the story, wrote matching captions and looked at adjectives to describe the. We have had such a great first week back, reading The Dot by Peter Reynalds, experimenting with mixing colours and creating our very own dots.

Our Science curriculum has been carefully planned to provide our children with the requirements of the National Curriculum, delivered through clearly focussed lessons that challenge and develop knowledge and understanding of the three branches of Science; chemistry, physics and biology. We also have a STEM programme of learning, which promotes the practical application of science.
Computing is the new ICT and can be divided into 3 areas: Computer Science, Information Technology and Digital Literacy (which includes E-Safety). Computer science is the science that deals with the theory and methods of processing information in digital computers, the design of computer hardware and software, the applications of computers and how to put this knowledge to use through programming.
