St Oswald's C Of E Aided Primary School
I feel extremely privileged to be Headteacher of such a vibrant, dynamic church school who has the children's best interests at the heart of everything we do through the Christian values of wisdom, growth, trust, strength, peace and friendship. We work as a team with parents, governors and the local community to ensure our children have the best educational experience we can offer at St Oswald's and that our children leave us 'secondary ready' and equipped with the skills to make them successful as life-long learners.
Services
Each year the Local Authority promotes a 'Blue Monday' campaign to 'Make Someone Smile' on what is thought to be the most depressing day of the year. This year, they encouraged all young people and employees to write down their funniest joke, which was entered into a competition judged by local comedian Chris Ramsey.
Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, " declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Our Ethos and Values Statement is an easy to understand model of for collective worship in St Oswald's.

Children in our school know that love is the most important value of all, in line with the new command that Jesus gave us to love one another, which is why this is placed above all in our statement.Sitting below love lies our school's mission statement: Aspire, Believe, Connect.
St Oswald's CE VA Primary School are part of a new innovative project in which schools in South Tyneside are participating. The project, called Operation Encompass, is being run in partnership with both South Tyneside Council and Northumbria Police.

Witnessing domestic abuse is really distressing for a young person, who can often see the abuse, hear it from another room, see a parent's injuries or distress afterwards or be physically hurt trying to stop the abuse.
This document should be completed for any injury of a child who has to seek medical advice from either a GP or the hospital. This is so school can keep your child safe and ensure we have risk assessed the situation properly. We are not medically trained past basic first aid and therefore staff can not independently assess the risk of exasperating an injury.
Why not go along to this free event taking place at The Customs House to celebrate its 25th Anniversary during half term? The Foundation was set up in our community recently to emotionally and socially support people dealing with disabilities. We are based at Perth Green Community Centre in Jarrow.
