At Houghton Regis we believe that every child matters every day: childhood is not a dress rehearsal and our priority is for our pupils to love learning through an exceptional curriculum which is exciting and constantly developing. We are a values-based school where we provide a happy, safe, positive environment, which nurtures confidence, motivation, independence and personal success for all pupils.
We are focused on the development of the whole child and our pupils' progress and well-being is our core purpose at all times. We strive to provide the very best opportunities for the children in our school - academic, artistic, athletic, moral and spiritual. We believe that young children learn best when taught using a holistic approach which embraces all subjects across the whole curriculum.

Services
Houghton Regis Primary provides education for children aged 3 - 11 years. We are a friendly, busy and happy school and we are very proud of the achievements of all our children. We work together with parents and carers to enable each child to take full advantage of all the educational opportunities on offer at our school and achieve success.
Physical Education is important as it gives children the opportunity to be physically active regularly, highlighting the importance of being healthy and active. It helps them improve interpersonal skills and promotes team work. Both intra and inter school competitions. Throughout the year we will continue increasing staff confidence and knowledge to deliver a more specific and effective curriculum.
The impact for the strategy statement for 2019-20 has been difficult to measure as the majority of pupils were absent from school from March until September. The objectives will continue until life in school becomes more settled and pupils are able to benefit from the specific interventions detailed.
To ensure every pupil acquires the skills, knowledge and values, to achieve their maximum potential in a caring, nurturing, challenging and inspiring environment. Give each child the opportunity to flourish and develop through a nurturing, creative and engaging learning journey, enabling them to take responsibility for their own learning.
We encourage parents to put their names down on our admissions list at an early age. Children can begin nursery once they are three. To put your child's name down on the list, please either call into school or telephone (01582 867487). Even if your child is attending our Nursery you will still need to apply for a place in our Reception class.
