We place a firm emphasis on the importance of nurturing our children towards becoming confident, responsible, sociable, well-rounded individuals, ready for life in high school and as young adults in our community. As you explore our website, we hope that you find this ethos reflected and enjoy the many different aspects our pupils' daily experience at Beechwood.

Nursery Pupils will have the date confirmed with their parent as there is a staggered start.
Services
Staff and Governors at Beechwood Primary are aware that many children are the victims of different kinds of abuse and that they can be subjected to social factors that have an adverse impact upon their lives - including domestic violence, substance misuse, bullying, mental health and radicalisation.
Beechwood Primary School has been given the opportunity to take part in a project that will run jointly between schools and Bedfordshire Police. It aims to support children who are affected by domestic abuse. Witnessing domestic abuse is really distressing for a child or young person, who often see the abuse, hear it from another room, see a parent's injury or distress afterwards, or can be physically hurt trying to stop the abuse.
Copies of all our school policies, curriculum schemes of work and any Ofsted report are available for parents to read. Please contact the Headteacher if you would like to see any of this information. Key policies are also available on our school website. The school is organised on a class basis and children of statutory school age spend a complete academic year with the same class teacher.
All celebration assemblies will be conducted online through Google with the children remaining in their classrooms. Each week, 2 children from each class are chosen to recieve a certificate for some of the amazing work they have completed during the week or a value or attitude they have displayed. Each week, children have the opportunity to be awarded purple slips for outstanding behaviour or work.
The Pupil Premium Grant, which is additional to main school funding, is provided to schools to address the current underlying inequalities and close the attainment gap between children eligible for free school meals (FSM) and their peers. Pupils are eligible for this funding if they have been registered for FSM at any point in the last 6 years; they are looked after (in care) or are children of service personnel.
