We are a thriving and active school that provides a secure, happy and stimulating environment in which children are able to fulfil their potential. Children only get one go at life. We do everything that we can to make sure that the children who come to our school get the very best. We give them the very best teaching, the best learning, the best resources, the best support and the best opportunities that they can have.
Every child matters to us and we make sure that they can all really go places. We pride ourselves at Stopsley on success. Our children all achieve well. We are passionate about sport, music, art and drama as well as providing a variety of learning experiences which enable our children to make choices, solve problems, become independent learners and set their own high standards.

At Stopsley Community Primary School we promote 'British Values' through our spirital, moral, social and cultural education which permeates through the school's curriculum and supports the development of the 'whole child'. We recognise that such development is most successful when those values and attitudes are promoted by all the staff and they provide a model of behaviour for our pupils.
In 2019, we decided to review our school curriculum, to ensure that it was tailored to meet the needs of the children of Stopsley and accurately reflected the school's vision and values. Throughout its design, we used academic research to guide our thinking. One of the strongest messages that resonated with us was that: Schools need to focus on developing Character Skills alongside improving their pupil's academic attainment.
We are learning how to grow our brains at Stopsley. To help do this, we are using Guy Claxton's Building Learning Power alongside Carol Dwek's approach. Carol Dweck believes that it's not just our abilities or talent that bring us success but whether we approach our goals with a fixed or growth mindset.
Stopsley Community Primary School is an inclusive, caring place in which each individual is valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. Our learning community is built upon the shared belief that the development of each child must be at the HEART of everything we do.
Through this values based approach, we are committed to providing a safe and happy environment in which each individual is encouraged to take responsibility for their own learning and be inspired to exceed expectations. We expect the children to 'live' the HEART values thorugh deliberate attitudes, where they can discover the very best of themselves.
