Services
We are a successful, very popular and happy community primary school located in Sowerby Bridge, Halifax. We are incredibly proud of our school and its community. I hope you enjoy visiting this website. To show respect and responsibility for ourselves and others, and our school and it's community at all times.
At New Road Primary School we are fortunate to have a wonderful team of staff that is committed to the vision, success and progress of the school. A vast array of specialisms and unquestionable commitment ensures that we provide the best possible service for our children, parents and the local community.
The Breakfast and Out of School Clubs offer extended hours care to pupils of New Road Primary School, where we offer various play and organised activities to suit all ages as well as a nutritious breakfast or light meal in the evenings. The Breakfast Club operates from 0730 till the start of school we offer a good breakfast of fresh juices, toast and a selection of cereals to set the children up for their busy day of learning.
Like all schools in the area, we are limited to the amount of children we are allowed to accept in each year group. At New Road this is 30 at present. Recently our new reception intakes have been fully subscribed, but over time families leave the area and this can create spaces in some year groups.
We believe that all children have the entitlement to a broad, balanced, creative and coherent curriculum which should prepare them for the opportunities and challenges of the 21st Century. They should be equipped with the skills, attitudes and dispositions they need to become well rounded individuals and life-long learners whilst instilling the love of learning.
