At St Joseph's Primary School, we believe that all members of our community are entitled to a positive, safe, caring and happy environment. All the children are supported and encouraged to achieve high individual targets. Everyone will be respected, valued and motivated. Their individual needs met and their successes celebrated. This is an outstanding school. It is much loved in the local community, and many parents and carers used the word 'family' when describing the school's ethos.
Services
The students of St Joseph's should have a strong understanding of past events and how they have shaped their present world. History provides a range of opportunities to demonstrate our literacy and numeracy skills in a range of contexts, but this is not the sole virtue of the subject.

We also believe that high-quality, engaging history lessons encourage critical thinking skills such as weighing evidence, generating arguments, and developing a sense of perspective.History celebrates cultures and peoples both strange and familiar to us, it contextualises our exciting differences and highlights the vary many things we all have in common - and have had in common for longer than we maybe recognise.
St Joseph's school in partnership with the Parishes of St Peter's Rotherhithe and St Gertrude's, South Bermondsey, provides a Catholic, Christian community, where everyone will be nurtured in the growth of their faith. Parents and carers will be supported actively and positively in their role as first educators of their children.
United, we will provide an outstanding learning environment for the children in our care. Our aim is to help nurture these children through a creative and intellectually rigorous curriculum to enable them to grow into independent and motivated learners. We will ensure that all children, of every ability level, will be supported and challenged to attain their potential.
It is my pleasure to welcome you to the website of St Joseph's Primary School. We are a popular and thriving school in the heart of the Rotherhithe and Bermondsey community where everyday we have the pleasure of welcoming in our pupils from Nursery to Year 6. Our school is proud of its successes both academically and holistically.
Dear Parents, we were delighted to receive the below letter in the post today from Rt Hon Nick Gibb - The Minister of State for School Standards. In the letter he details that we are in the top 1% of schools nationally for our writing results last year. We are proud of this achievement and all our children.

Inside the school, they have un-age appropriate books which are not suitable for young readers. E.g Noughts and crosses series by Malorie Blackman which have scenes which are inappropriate for young kids in year 5 & 6.

Best primary school I've attended I loved participating in the tournaments bringing back trophies for the school - It is really well known for the sporting success and i love the variety of clubs. All teachers are kind and friendly and the food is delicious. They prepare yo for secondary school and make sure you have a wonderful time. There is nothing bad I can say about this school. I know this after spending 7 years of my life here

This school is not that interesting. I heard a child went her and was judged on his/her color and it was racism. Over all this school is good in all areas and in all subjects. I think this school is amazing especially Yr 6 which not are just the oldest they work extremely hard. We salute you.

I am in year 5 and i am in this school. It really challenges students to go further so I think that more children should come. I am really enjoying it.
