It is our greatest privilege to witness at first hand the progress of all pupils entrusted to our care, a job we take very seriously. We take great pride in our role of nurturing and caring for each individual child, as they progress through this wonderful journey of life, realising their full potential both spiritually and academically.

St Joseph and St James's Primary School is a Catholic, rural primary school situated on the north side of Poyntzpass Village. The school remains on its original site, housed in a building dating back to 1964. Our current enrolment stands at 134 and has been increasing steadily since our amalgamation in 2007.
We hope that you will check back here regularly as we will be updating it with all the exciting things we will be exploring and learning about throughout the year ahead. We are a very busy class with Miss Doherty (Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday) and Mrs Magowan(Thursday and Friday)as our teachers, along with classroom assistants Mrs Allen and Mrs Canavan.
Welcome to Primary 2 & 3! We have all settled into the new school year and are looking forward to learning, playing and getting to know each other more. Our teacher is Mrs Sloan and we have three classroom assistants called Mrs Quinn, Mrs Canavan and Mrs Dillon. We have a busy year ahead of us and we will share our experiences with you through our photos.
This year we are back inside the main school building. Our teacher, Mrs Doran has high expectations and encourages us work to the best of our ability inside and outside our classroom. This year we are becoming much more independent in our learning and we will be focusing on areas that we need to improve on throughout the year.
We cannot believe that we are in our final year of primary school. We are going to have a wonderful year with our class teacher Mrs Shortt. Things may be a little different this year as we are in our class bubbles but we are looking forward to all the fun activities and experiences we will be having this year.
