Pen-y-bont Hotel
The Owners Angela and Brian met at the Pen-y-Bont Hotel in 2005. Angela had recently been singing on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line in Alaska and was staying at her parent's holiday home nearby. From there she was to set out on the next phase of her life. Meanwhile she had a part time bar job at the Pen-y-Bont Hotel.

Brian walked in with his Mum and a friend. Mum had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and it was to be one last holiday while she was still enjoying life (she actually confounded the medical profession and lived for a further fourteen years.) From behind the bar Angela asked "what would you like to drink?"
Services
Our three double rooms are each named after a local historical character, and contain a folder describing the life and times in which they lived. Rooms can either be accessed by stairs from the front of the Hotel or by a ramp to the rear. All rooms have a South East facing aspect; this looks across the road to the churchyard and the majestic sweep of Craig Goch mountainside beyond.
Renovated to a high standard in 2020, Sea Moss Cabin is Chalet 1 on the Woodlands Holiday Park, Bryncrug, LL36 9UH. Like the Pen-y-Bont Hotel, it is on the B4405 Tywyn road, but 8 miles further on towards the coast. It is a beautiful holiday cabin for two, and fully accessible. It is positioned on the car park directly opposite to the Clubhouse.

Absolutely excellent Angela and Brian are fantastic, the room was lovely and clean and the food is excellent.
The hotel faces the lake and has a lovely walk right around the lake on good walking ground, if you walk all the way around it thre is a couple of stretches on the road but it's manageable.
It's situated at the Mach loop where you might if you are lucky get to see the aircraft fly through the valley which only happens on weekdays and is not all day long and also the weather can affect it.
We really enjoyed our stay and would like to thank Angela and Brian for everything

We visited this facility with a family of four with my wife and two daughters. Though we paid more than Β£450 pounds our visit was a total failure for the reasons narrated below. Don’t commit the mistake that we did and learn from it , if you are visiting Wales in the nearby future.
1. My wife committed the mistake of booking this hotel last year through booking.com who kept on rolling this facility for more than a year claiming no refunds would be entertained when everybody else was providing refunds,
2. We booked four rooms for eight persons, as we expected guests who were scheduled to visit

Came for a drink, staff was so lovely enjoyed sitting in your well maintained patio with our 3 dogs. Staff came and positioned our chairs and gave us a talk about the wild life in lockdown. Loved your bouncing chairs!!
We have been coming to this part of the country for donkey yrs. and never stopped here. It always looked so unwelcoming and the neon Bar sign does not do this place justice. Fit a new sign and let everyone know what a lovely place you have. Will be coming back most definitely 😊😊
