Plas Dolguog Hotel
IN THE HEART OF THE DYFI VALLEY, set amid specimen trees and gold award winning gardens, you will find the tranquility of this hidden oasis. This time-honoured site was well chosen for peace and serenity. The 'ancient house' dates back in written history to the 6th century and commands stunning views across the Dyfi (Dovey) Valley to Snowdonia National Park beyond.

There is plenty to stimulate the adventurous and relax the work-worn. Set in 9 acres of mature grounds, the lawns give way to pathed walks through shrubberies, flora and fauna. Plas Dolguog has been sensitively converted into a country house hotel comprising of a comfortable bar, lounge, restaurant and 7 well-appointed ensuite bedrooms.

The hotel is located in a beautiful setting a short drive away from shops, restaurants, bars etc. However the Hotel bar is well stocked and the restaurant food is of a very good standard. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The room we were in was spacious and comfortable but I have taken one star off as I felt the decor was a bit tired and there was a bath with a mixer shower. I have to say that I knew about the lack of a power shower when booking.

A beautiful, family run hotel in historic Machynlleth, great for exploring Mid-Wales. Well appointed, spacious rooms and friendly staff make it a lovely place to stay and my family enjoyed our break. Lovely grounds and river made for a peaceful pre breakfast stroll.

Great setting, lovely views, friendly staff, nice play area for kids. Shame food and drink prices have shot up recently. Needs more outside tables. Food served 4 to 8pm and drinks 4 to 9pm , which is a bit off putting when you fancy an evening drink. Opening hours very short compared to most pubs and restaurants.

Lovely friendly welcoming, food fantastic and a lovely room. Just a shame I only stayed for one night and that was work related. Would love to go back when everything has reopened again and have a proper explore.

I stayed at Plas Dolguog overnight on the way to the south of Wales. I would have happily stayed for a fortnight. Absolutely stunning landscape, extremely helpful staff and very comfy beds.
The gardens were fun to explore and the walks I took alongside the river in the early morning were magical.

WoW.. Going the extra mile springs to mind. My Family and I (8) in total stayed over for a long bank holiday weekend close by and ventured out looking for somewhere to eat.
Finding this off road rertreat after being turned away from a local establishment (locals only) I ventured inside to be welcomed by a lovely lady by the name of Tina.
After listening to my previous encounter elsewhere, Tina took up the challenge and found a space for us to eat.Initially outside then a family table inside.
Service fantastic / Food fantastic / Surroundings fantastic and just to add what a real pleasure it was
