Old Vicarage School
There is something very special about our small school. A very comforting feature for parents is the warm and welcoming family atmosphere. On visiting many are impressed by the beauty of the building and its gardens. You then become aware of the excellent academic, physical and social achievements of the children. The secret is not only in the care and attention of our wonderful staff but also in the way the older children care for and nurture the younger ones as soon as they arrive.
Services
Welcome to the Old Vicarage School, an "OUTSTANDING/EXCELLENT" independent Nursery, Pre-Prep and Preparatory school for girls and boys aged 3 to 13 years. This site is designed to give an insight into the wonderful education on offer at the Old Vicarage School.

As you glance at the different aspects of this site, I hope you will see what we can offer your child - an education tailored to their individual needs in a warm, family and nurturing environment. We want our children to develop a life-long love of learning, to be happy, confident and 'glass half full' in character.
Please get in touch with us on 01332 557130 or office@oldvicarageschool.co.uk to arrange a visit. Before we offer your child a place at our school, the first step is to arrange a visit with us. This allows us to get to know you and your child as well as show you around the school. We do strictly limit the number of places we offer so we can maintain small class sizes.
After Nursery, our children move into the Reception Class. Here, the children continue to follow the EYFS Framework and in many instances go beyond it. The children enjoy outdoor learning as a significant part of their curriculum, which continues throughout their school life at OVS. Reading is given a high priority.
A broad and creative curriculum continues as the children enter Key Stage 2, (Year 3 to 6). The emphasis on the core subjects continues with high priority given to reading comprehension, grammar and spelling, as well as mathematics core skills, including a focus on developing a firm knowledge of their times tables and number bonds.
Telephone the school on: 01332 557130 or email the School Office at: office@oldvicarageschool.co.uk to arrange a personal meeting and tour with the Head of School. We politely request that visitors park on Church Lane or surrounding residential streets. Entry can be gained by using the intercom system at the wooden school gates.

My child's confidence is soaring and the improvements we have seen month on month after leaving the old school is astonishing.
We are extremely grateful to the committed staff and excellent leadership of this school and it comes recommended.
