On behalf of the pupils, staff and governors of Ringmer Primary and Nursery School, may I warmly welcome you to our website. It is an honour to lead such a dedicated and hardworking team as well as working alongside such motivated and enthusiastic pupils. Our school is part of a growing and thriving village community.
We admit children in the 2-11 age range and some 330 children are currently on roll here. The school has been through a major rebuilding and refurbishment project in recent years and the result is a modern and comfortable environment which is conducive to first class learning experiences. We believe that children learn best when they are happy, secure and feel that their achievements will be recognised.

To ensure high quality, inspirational and innovative teaching that establishes a love of learning. We will do this through providing a curriculum that will nurture curious minds, stretch the imagination and provide opportunities for every child to excel academically, creatively, practically and socially.
At Ringmer Primary and Nursery School we want all of our pupils to have an understanding of the past and of how history will shape their future through learning about human achievements and experiences. Our motivating and engaging History curriculum will enable children to develop historical skills and deepen knowledge and understanding.
The Ringmer Governing Body is made up of 9 people who represent all the key groups involved with the school - parents and carers, school staff, the Local Authority and the local community. The Headteacher is also a member of the governing body. Governors who are not school staff are not paid for their work, but carry it out on a voluntary basis.
It was important to us to stay in touch with our children during lockdown and to make sure that they knew that we were all missing them and wondering what they had been getting up to (other than the home learning!) As a result we set up a weekly Children's Bulletin where we shared photos and stories that the parents and children had emailed us.
We take the Safeguarding of our children very seriously and believe two way communication with the parent body is crucial to this. The Designated Safeguarding Lead is the Headteacher, Miss Crompton. The Deputy Safeguarding Leads are the Inclusion Manager, Mrs Porter, and Nursery Manager, Miss Callahan.
