Wallands Community Primary School
The teachers are really encouraging, easy to understand and they help us if we need support. They help us to be independent. Wallands is different from any other school. We'!re really lucky to have great sights and views on the Downs and the cliffs and we have two playgrounds, a basketball court, two football pitches and a woodland area!

I would like to welcome all of our children and families to Wallands Community Primary and Nursery School. We have around 265 children on roll, with twelve classes, including a Nursery and a specialist Speech and Language Centre.
Services
At Wallands Community Primary we have a clear vision for our school which unites children, staff, families and governors. We will promote a love of learning, delivering the curriculum in a rich, varied and creative way through offering high quality teaching, setting high expectations and maximising the benefits of our unique setting and diverse community.
At Wallands, children are exposed to a rich and diverse history curriculum in which they learn all about significant individuals as well as different empires within, and which affected, British history, including Mary Seacole, Ancient Greeks, WW2 and Boudicca. We use our local surroundings to support the teaching and learning and make links between the past and the present.
It is designed to give you as much information as possible about our school and how we work. It tells you about our aims and the curriculum, the resources and facilities we have available and the opportunities we provide for the children. However, looking through this booklet can only give you a flavour of life at Wallands.
Our Centre provides full-time places for up to sixteen children, which are allocated by East Sussex County Council's SEND Panel. This year (2020) we have been undergoing an impressive rebuilding of our facilities and our children now have new purpose built classrooms and therapy rooms. All children on roll have Education and Health Care Plans for severe and specific language needs.
Provide an extensive curriculum with an emphasis on high standards in reading, writing and maths. To provide high quality teaching experiences, which excite and motivate children in the classroom and beyond. To provide opportunities to learn about the unique setting of the school within an historic town and the South Downs.
