Lisnasharragh Primary School
A very warm welcome to the Lisnasharragh Primary School website. The aim of our website is to provide you with a flavor of what our children experience when attending Lisnasharragh Primary School. We aim to provide the boys and girls with a caring environment and to introduce them to as wide a range of learning opportunities as possible.

We want our children to develop into independent, responsible young people. This requires a strong partnership between school and home, and we provide many ways for parents to learn about and to share in their child's education. We have received this exciting first edition Newsletter from the EA Literacy Service, and we invite you to share this with your child/children at home, if suitable.

Congratulations on receiving a place for your child at Lisnasharragh Primary School. This information and accompanying photos/video complements the School Prospectus which is issued to all new parents. We hope the transition to Primary 1 is a happy and enjoyable experience. Our aim in Lisnasharrgh is to offer your child a happy, caring environment, which caters for individual needs through all areas of the curriculum.
I am not afraid of making mistakes, no, I believe we all need to make mistakes to grow and learn. I have a poster in my classroom from Michael Jordan a famous basketball player, he says he is successful because of all the times he tried something and it didn't work but he still didn't quit and I like to be reminded of that.
Lisnasharragh School has a large staff team of teachers, teaching assistants, administrative staff, lunchtime supervisory assistants and premises staff. All staff work closely together, each bringing their own experience and expertise to ensure an integrated approach to the education and welfare of the pupils.
Parents and teachers who are elected by the parents and teachers associated with the school. Members of the general public with an interest in education who are appointed by the Department of Education or the Education Authority (EA) in our region.

The Governing Body of Lisnasharragh Primary School works with the management team on strategies to deliver the best possible environment for every child, for each member of staff, and for the whole school community, enabling them to grow and develop their potential. This is the aim of the Governing Body and is embedded in all aspects of the work carried out by the Governing Body.
The School Day begins at 8:45am. At this time all pupils should be in school ready to start their learning. We kindly ask parents not to leave children unaccompanied in the school grounds before this time. If you need to leave your child to school at an earlier time we have a Breakfast Club from 7.45am every morning for only 3.00 per day.
