Services
At St. Patrick's P.S. we aim to foster a caring, supportive environment within a well ordered school community, where staff and pupils can work together in an atmosphere of mutual respect, so that each and every individual can achieve the highest level of intellectual, personal, physical and social development of which he/she is capable, within the context of the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
Pastoral Care is a set of systems, procedures and programmes which attempts to meet the totality of needs of the children in our care, allowing them to develop to their full potential, equipped with the necessary skills to cope in life. Pastoral Care addresses children's personal, social, emotional, spiritual, mental and physical needs and fosters positive relationships.
Our Eco-Committee has been up and running for a number of years now. Congratulations to Conal Kelly in Year Seven who has been appointed as a Nature Ranger. This role involves being responsible for looking after our Forest School equipment and helping other classes with their outdoor learning. Eco-Committee meetings will take place fortnightly on a Tuesday @ 2.30pm in our outdoor classroom.
Our Playground Buddy system was first established in 2011 and has grown from strength to strength since. There are currently 25 Playground Buddies from the Year 6 and 7 class. Year 6 pupils stand in for Year 7, if they are absent. The Playground Buddy system was set up so that children can get involved in making playtime more friendly, fun and safer for everyone.
The Northern Ireland Curriculum aims to empower young people to achieve their potential and to make informed and responsible decisions throughout their lives. The learning opportunities provided should help young people to develop as individuals, contributors to society and contributors to the economy and environment.
