The study of history at St Michael and All Angels Primary School is a rich and active experience. The children are taught a broad curriculum covering both British and World history, from ancient times to modern day. Through investigation, they develop enquiry and problem-solving skills and also learn how past events have influenced our lives today.
Topics are informed by the National Curriculum and are sensitive to children's interests, as well as the context of the local area. The history curriculum at St Michael and All Angels is carefully planned and structured to ensure that current learning is linked to previous learning and that the school's approaches are informed by current pedagogy.

Services
School information such as how we spend our pupil premium money, our inspection reports, results from questionnaires. We operate our own After School Club that operates between 3.30pm and 5.30pm Monday to Friday. We are also using some of the money to provide after-school sports clubs, with specialist sports coaches.
It is better to be late than not to arrive at all. However, when children arrive late it can make things difficult for everyone. The teacher has to stop and ensure a newcomer is up-to-speed and settle them in, therefore the rest of the class is disrupted. The latecomer misses the first part of the lesson and will miss out on important learning.
Each year voting takes place in Years 1-6, for the children who have campaigned to be elected to the School Council. Mr Hinds asked us to do a special job. We had to think of 50 (then 100) things we would like to do before leaving school (sport). A School Council is a group of pupils who are elected to represent the views of all pupils and to improve their School.
Each year, we look to build on our PE and Sports provision and now use the government's PE and Sport Grant to achieve this. The PE and Sport grant is additional funding given to publicly-funded schools in England to improve physical education (PE) and sport in primary schools over 5 academic years from 2013 to 2018.
You may use this website to find out about school finances but also to compare our school to other local or national schools. The Governing Body analyse this information, regularly, to see how we can improve our spending and ensure we provide value for public money. We are required to publish how many school employees have a gross annual salary of 100,000 or more in increments of 10,000.
