At Woodlands, we believe in delivering a History curriculum that will help pupils gain a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of Britain's past and that of the wider world. We strive to teach children to understand the complexity of people's lives, the process of change, the diversity of societies and relationships between different groups.
To link historical events with real life experiences, by visiting local and national historical places of interest. To participate in debates which help them to articulate their opinions, whilst showing respect for others who may have differing views. To develop analytical skills can be applied across the curriculum and in the context of the wider world.

Woodlands needs to meet the target of 96.2% which is the national average. We can only do this if parents support us fully and if we all understand the importance of NOT taking term time holidays or absences from school. Thank you to those parents who are helping Woodlands raise our attendance levels, which helps our children to get the most out of their educational experience.
Woodlands Primary School is a large, multi-cultural school where we celebrate our differences and build a culture of kindness and respect for all. Our ethos is built upon our key drivers- these are the focus of all the decisions we make and help us drive school improvement to ensure that we provide the very best education for our pupils and their families.
Woodlands Primary School supports and promotes equal access for all children to the curriculum and all areas of school provision. The school is working towards the ideal of an inclusive school and aims to treat all children equally and fairly irrespective of race, gender, ethnic origin or disability.
The governing board is a crucial part of the Woodlands family and works with the school to promote our key drivers and vision for the pupils. They share in our successes and support us when needed. The governors are very supportive of the school not only attending regular meetings but also scrutinise documentation, approve policies and act as critical friends.
At Woodlands Primary School we have uncompromisingly high aspirations for all our children and believe that every child should be given the opportunity to achieve. We believe that the curriculum should be tailored to our children and give them experiences that they will always remember.
We use our 'Key Drivers' : To have real world experiences; To have high aspirations; To be responsible global citizens and To support mental and physical well-being to ensure that all our children's needs are met and they all realise their full potential. We are helped to achieve our high standards through government funding as well as using money from the school's budget.

My sister sent an email to the school asking if she could do voluntary experience as part of her college hours and she spelt the word ‘urgent’ wrong so the school headteacher called my dad and told him that’s the reason why she isn’t being accepted at the school. How ridiculous!!! So if a child can’t spell a word correctly their not accepted. So disappointed, despite the fact that it’s a school and should understand children better it’s rejected a child because of one minor spelling mistake and also because of the fact she didn’t write ‘please’. Accepting her then calling her

Woodlands School was ok when I went.
Most (some) teachers were really nice like Ms Ireland but others not so much...
We didn't cover everything we were supposed to so when I went into secondary, I was very behind.
Also the school doesn't handle bullying well either.
Overall, my experience at Woodlands was ok.

Rubbish school. Teachers think they are superior and put you on report, call your parents and exclude you for just calling out. Also, they make you sit on the floor during assembly and during Singing Assemblies (Friday), if you refuse to sing, they do the above and make you stand throughout the entire assembly.
