The school has a long tradition of high standards. Our pupils are noted for their good behaviour and academic success, such success has only been achieved through a close partnership between home and school. The school serves a diverse community. This is reflected in the school's curriculum, staffing and governance. It is important to us that each child is treated with equality and respect.
Services
Parents should register their child for the Nursery at the school office on the pre-admission list, by their third birthday. Shortly before the child's admission to school, parents will be invited to attend a short meeting in school, introducing the school and its procedures. Children's admissions to Reception, Key Stage One and Two are made in line with Borough policy, by applying to the Education Department.
It is the policy of the school that all children will wear our agreed uniform each day. This fosters a feeling of belonging to our community, and helps children feel equal to each other. White polo shirt with school logo, grey trousers, navy sweatshirt/cardigan with school logo. White polo shirt with school logo, navy skirt or pinafore, or navy trousers, navy sweatshirt/cardigan with school logo.

In order that Pupil attainment and progress across each year group is higher in all pupil groups than national averages. Create responsive planning to address any identified gaps - boys, disadvantaged and vulnerable groups. Respond to the government's recommendations for catch-up strategies to agree on which are most appropriate to our community.
The school's primary purpose is the meet the educational needs of the children who attend it. These are many and varied. It is important to me that Gearies remains an inclusive school, welcoming all children through our doors, no matter the background. Our teaching is informed by relevant research, for which we have an international reputation.
