William Torbitt Primary School
We are asking that all pupils bring in a minimum donation of 1 in support of this charity. It is a school that lies at the heart of the community, where the children's learning is paramount, and the learning of the whole school community is highly valued and encouraged. There are high expectations of staff as well as pupils, and a continual striving for excellence.
Services
If you would like your child to join our Nursery, you need to apply directly to the school. You can also pick one up from the school office. Admission to the Reception classes are managed through the London Borough of Redbridge local authority. Please be aware that there is no automatic right of entry for existing Nursery pupils to the school; parents/carers have to apply through the Local Authority as all other parents/carers.
We believe we have a privileged role which is going to shape the future, change society and improve the world. At William Torbitt Primary School we promise our children will be inspired, understand who they are, and leave with a strong self-worth and identity. Someone must have taught Shakespeare to write, shown Mae Jemison the stars, fostered Malala Yousafzai's courage - who unlocked that potential?
Redbridge is a family of good and outstanding schools where the expertise across these schools is systematically shared to improve outcomes for ALL children. Redbridge has always promoted and provided excellent school-to-school support. After the Ofsted Inspection in June, Redbridge did not hesitate to immediately support William Torbitt.
Our aim continues to be a school where children's rights are at the heart of our ethos and culture, thereby improving well-being and to develop every child's talents and abilities to their full potential. As part of this plan we will continue working towards recognition as a 'Rights Respecting School', with a view to gaining the Silver and ultimately Gold standard award.
Our guiding principle is one of Inclusion and that of a person-centred approach. We aim to provide quality first teaching for all of our pupils so that no child is left behind. This includes appropriate differentiation for individual pupils, the use of high-quality resources and effective use of additional adult support.
