Whiteabbey Primary School
As a learning community, established since 1839 in Jordanstown/ Whiteabbey village, on the north shores of Belfast Lough, we wish to create a wonderful unique learning experience for each of our children, within a happy and secure environment. In Whiteabbey Primary School everyone is valued and cherished regardless of their ability or interests.

All our little learners are encouraged to grow and develop academically, socially, spiritually and physically as independent, well rounded and tolerant individuals. We hope you enjoy your time on our website and if there is anything we can do to improve it, please just drop us an email.
Services
Whiteabbey Primary School has a long tradition of child centred learning. Our original school opened in the grounds of Whiteabbey Presbyterian Church in 1863. Then in 1939 our school moved to its present site on the Old Manse Road. There are currently 420 children attending our school.

Through the years our children have enjoyed our extensive grounds with mature trees and extensive play equipment that in themselves provide wonderful learning opportunities for many important skills. As our school has grown so the grounds have been developed to offer differing play areas where our little learners can have fun together - play games, kick a ball or just catch up with their friends!
You can find out about what we are doing in our school to help us learn about the environment and help us work towards our Green Flag Award. Our Eco Committee is made up of elected pupil representatives, staff and governors. They meet regularly throughout the year to monitor our school energy and waste usage and to plan events and activities that help protect our environment and help us all contribute towards a better world.
Established in 1839, our school community celebrated our 180th birthday in 2019. As part of the celebrations we wish to begin to establish a register of our alumni who have represented our province and country in sport and other fields of life post 18 years of age.

Not all sports and fields of life have formal representation at province and national level, nevertheless we would love to know how well our alumni are doing so please submit a record if you feel you, or a past pupil you know, has achieved a similar level in their chosen field. If you are a past pupil or member of staff of Whiteabbey Primary School we would love to hear from you!
In Whiteabbey Primary School we have a long history of enriching our little learners' lives with an exciting range of after school clubs and extra curricular opportunities. We have something that appeals to everyone and helps broaden our children's life experiences and give them opportunities to learn skills not readily available within a normal class setting.
2. Do not stop opposite the school gates as this not only prevents the free flow of traffic but puts your child at risk crossing a very busy road. 3. Do not stop on the zigzag lines at the school gates as this prevents other drivers having a clear view of the school entrances. If we all follow these simple rules and take care around the school we can ensure the safety of all our pupils.
