Seaview Primary School

Our enrolment has been increasing over the last few years. An admissions criteria information sheet can be requested from the school office or it can be downloaded on the school website. The admissions criteria outlined in the information sheet will be applied in the event of the school being oversubscribed.

It is a child's right to feel safe at all times, to be heard, listened to and taken seriously. We have a pastoral responsibility towards the children in our care and should take all reasonable steps to ensure their welfare is safeguarded and their safety is preserved. In any incident the child's welfare must be paramount, this overrides all other considerations.

Our school review and development plan contains a wealth of information assessing how well we are performing as a school, what our long term strategic priorities are and details of activities that we are undertaking to help improve provision during this academic year. We welcome parents to look at this and feedback any comments or thoughts they have about this plan either through our feedback box, via email or verbally to us.

Seaview Primary School and Nursery Unit value the wellbeing of all staff and students within their community.

The school provides a wide range of support to promote the wellbeing of staff and students, including such activities as parent yoga, our extensive pastoral support, providing membership of Calm mindfulness app for all staff and students, weekly wellbeing drop in with our mental health lead, counselling sessions for staff, parents and students in need of expert support, and a mental health focus over a fortnight to raise awareness of mental illness and the importance of mental wellbeing during the school year.

In the event of an emergency school closure, pupils will be encouraged to continue to learn at home. Each class uses the Seesaw application for communication with parents. In the event of a closure, class teachers will direct parents to the learning overview for the time that school may be closed. We will encourage all pupils to read everyday and use online activities to improve mental recall.
