Services
If you need to see a Doctor or a Nurse urgently at any time, please telephone the Out Of Hours Service on 111. Available for anyone who has an illness or injury that is not life-threatening but too urgent to wait for a routine appointment with their GP. In Walsall we have two Urgent Care Centres based in Walsall town centre (Community Site) and at Walsall Manor hospital (Hospital Site).
Birchills Health Centre is a Teaching Practice. From time to time we will have a Birmingham University Medical Student training here with us. They will always be supervised by our doctors and we always ask for our patient's permission before being seen by a Medical Student. If you do not wish to be seen by a Medical Student, please let one of our receptionist know.
At Birchills Health Centre, we are able to assess patients suffering from minor illnesses i.e. This clinic is run on Tuesdays from 9.15am to 3.00pm and alternate Wednesdays from 9.00am until 12.30pm with the Community Midwife. Please book your first appointment with Reception so that we may start your antenatal care as soon as possible.
Our practice is inspected by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) to ensure we are meeting essential standards of quality and safety. This widget provides a summary of the results of the latest checks carried out by the CQC. The average pay for GPs working at Birchills Health Centre in the last financial year was 98,747 before tax and national insurance.

Terrible quality of care experienced in recent months. GP on two separate occasions failed to read the notes sent over by my midwife and prescribed me the same antibiotics I am resistant to twice. When I did get prescribed a different one, after it didn’t help the problem the first time round, they refused to offer me an alternative method of treatment and insisted I try the exact same thing for the exact same duration again. I couldn’t believe it and neither could my midwife or pharmacist.
Also, in September I had a blood test and was told the doctor would call me back with you results, I

Useless Receptionists to book appointments you have ring 3-4 times a day in space of 3 days to actually get an appointments that are weeks or month away, and even worser to book repeat medications they play around getting patients to ring Pharmacy's for medications you need Doctors to sign off on even their patient app hardly works they tell you to sign up on, and then they act like they didn't know you requested repeat medications even though you spoke them day ago, this is norm with this surgery I would suggest anyone thinking of joining to save the headache find a different surgery.

Unhappy with receptionists always speaking down to you and keep asking to call back phones are not recorded as when I had raised an issue the practise manager never called me and therefore the receptionists are so I’ll mannered they can say what they want and don’t say thank you or please. No manners I was liking to book an appointment but was told I need to call back at 1pm then when I call I get told all appointment are booked . So waste of time I will be going to another practise as no one cares and lack of support by your practise never have I been spoken to with I’ll mannered young receptionists

Quite disappointed and annoyed. Going on holiday whilst being pregnant, in which I’ve had no complications luckily. Although to fly at 28 weeks you need a signature from your midwife or doctor. The doctor charged me £27.50 to take a look at my notes and with no complications I can’t imagine it took her long either. However, since I’ve not had a permanent midwife it would of been common courtesy/goodwill for the doctor to have not charged me. I think a pregnant woman shouldn’t be taken advantage of like this anyway. Throughout this pregnancy I’ve seen a different midwife each time and

Really helpful. Perhaps getting a quick appointment is not easy to get but doable if you phone at the right time (they'll tell you when). The doctors do seem to care and you're not just a number. Probably most doctors are difficult to get a quick appointment easily, if I think about it logically. My previous doctors did not seem to care as much as these guys, so overall I am happy.

Excellent doctors surgery, doctors, nurses and reception staff have always been polite, professional and helpful. I've only ever had one bad experience here and that was with one of the doctors who I no longer go to so that was easily rectified. Remember we all have people that we don't get on with, just move on.
Doctor Rebecca Suri is the nicest doctor I have ever had.
