The Anchor is a charming characterful attractive Grade 11 listed hotel, pub and restaurant located on a picturesque riverside location on the banks of the Tyne. The menu at the Anchor offers a quality selection of British dishes loving made with locally sourced ingredients. The extensive menu offers 3 course meals as well as lighter snacks and sharing platters washed down with hand pulled ales, beers and lagers spirits or a glass of wine.
Situated on the Bridge of Haydon Bridge (which originally dates back to the 1300's). The Anchor Hotel is a building steeped in history and it has been a Hotel in various guises for many years. Originating as a Jacobite Cross relating to medieval settlements, the Roman occupation and Jacobite revolutions the Hotel was also once a court house complete with hanging facilities outside in what is now the car park and garden.

Our chef, originally from the 5 star Caledonian in Edinburgh, is committed to using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible and presents a menu of dishes featuring classic British cooking beautifully presented.
The full freshly prepared menu is served with daily specials every day from 12 noon in our spacious bar/lounge area overlooking the river, which affords views of the local wild life herons, geese and ducks as well as the leaping salmon.Also served in the cosy snug with real log fire and on the decking which enjoys the sun from sunrise to sunset.
