The Lord Crewe Arms
Nestled in the honey-stone village of Blanchland, beneath a cloak of forests and heath, stands our storybook bolthole. Offering the warmth of twenty-one bedrooms, each decorated in soothing Pennine hues, we're ideally positioned for a relaxing northern getaway. Soaked in Northumbrian soul - this is hillside living with heart, and we're pretty sure you'll love us for it.

Bastions of crafted luxury betrothed to the wilds, each of our hilltop hideaways profess a heavenly sort of stillness. Simple, honest plates plucked from the larder of our landscape, our food evolves with the seasons. Always delicious, our menus are the perfect choice for hearty feasts. The perfect backdrop for your dream day, nothing whispers rustic romance more than wild moors, knitted forests, teardrop windows and a blazing fireside (or four).
Services
Built in 1165, our home began its life as a guest house to the newly-formed Blanchland Abbey. The guest house enjoyed 400 years of self-sufficiency and kind hospitality, until the dissolution of the Abbeys of England in 1539. The ownership of the building then moved from family to family, before becoming the responsibility of the 'Lord Crewe Trustees'.

A very enjoyable couple of nights away. Beautiful hotel and stunning location. Friendly staff and lovely food. Enjoyed afternoon tea and drinks in the crypt bar especially, and the two evening meals we had were excellent. Breakfast was decent too. Thank you everyone for an enjoyable stay.

Wonderful service - both professional and friendly. Great food and excellent choice. The one small improvement I would look for is a slightly broader wine list but appreciate the limitations inherent in a rural location. Will definitely return!

I booked a 2 night stay for our Anniversary and on our arrival to this beautiful part of the world we were met with great hospitality. I’m a full time wheelchair user and whilst the space is not ideal for wheelchairs I managed.
Normally managing is not what I do, however, this little gem of a place is just so unusual it’s a must.
The food is just superb as is the variety and the attention to detail from the staff as to allergies etc is just spot on. Stevie was on hand for us each evening and was very accommodating and nothing was too much trouble even accessing the Crypt Bar.

First time visiting for Sunday Lunch we were not disappointed in any way. Beautiful setting, everyone was so friendly and helpful and the food was divine. Top quality and loved how it was all served for such a reasonable price. We will definately be back.
