The Governing Body of the school is made up of people from a variety of backgrounds, who are elected or nominated and are representative of parents, teachers, and the local community. All governors are committed to the school and its aspirations for every pupil to achieve their full potential; to succeed, soar and excel.
All children are admitted into our Reception classes in the September of the academic year in which they are five. However, we continue to comply with Peterborough Local Authority who manage our admissions. The first priority is given to looked after children, a verified medical need relating to a child, children living within the catchment area and siblings.
All at Ravensthorpe are committed to ensuring our children are treated equally and that we seek opportunities to recognise and celebrate diversity in our school community. Please see the documents below to read our Equality Compliance Document and information regarding the Public Sector Equality Duty.
In the Foundation Stage the children learn through the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. The National Curriculum sets out what children should know, understand and do in each year group in the following subjects: English, Maths, Science, Computing, Design Technology, History, Geography, Music, Art, Physical Education, Personal, Social and Health Education.
Ravensthorpe Primary School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Safeguarding concerns must be shared without delay with a designated safeguarding member of staff. If a designated person is not available, in an emergency or if you are not happy with the schools action, advice from the police or Children's Social Care must be sought.
