Forge Integrated Primary School
Forge is one of Northern Ireland's longest established integrated primary schools. The school opened in 1985, the result of a determined effort by a group of parents with a vision for a shared future for their children. Now, more than thirty years on we have become firmly established as a quality provider of integrated education.

We are currently located just off the Ormeau Road adjacent to Wellington College Grammar School and we serve the wider South East Belfast area. Browse our online prospectus booklet to find out about who we are, what we do and how we do it. This year's prospectus includes four short films aimed at giving prospective parents an insight into our school.
Services
Forge is situated off the Ormeau Road. Travelling away from the city centre past the roundabout at the top of the Ormeau and Ravenhill Roads, you can turn right down either Carolan Road, or Rosetta Avenue towards Wellington College. Follow the signs through the grounds of Wellington College to our site.
Forge provides a broad and balanced curriculum through a topic work approach in keeping with the Northern Ireland Curriculum. This enables children to receive the breadth and balance required to educate and prepare them for life. Schemes for literacy and numeracy are structured to promote independent and co-operative learning at a suitable level and pace for each child.
The Pre-School Playgroup offers a quality start to children's early education in a warm and caring atmosphere. The Pre-School team consists of the Leader, Stephanie Cherry, the Deputy Leader, Shannon Veitch and two Playgroup Assistants. These areas of learning tie in with the Primary curriculum that children progress to in P1.
The warm and happy atmosphere that prevails at Forge has not come about by accident and we are proud of the good relationships that we have established between pupils, staff and parents. Many of our former pupils return to the school for special events.

In order to maintain this we have a comprehensive pastoral care policy to ensure procedures are in place to deal with issues such as bullying, bereavement and the other serious issues that may arise.Members of staff have been designated as members of our Child Protection Team and we maintain an open door policy to keep channels of communication open between home and school and address issues early.
The Programme is designed to help develop self-control, emotional awareness and interpersonal skills through progressive lessons that enhance children's social competence and social understanding. The PATHSProgramme has been adapted for a UK audience by Barnardo's NI. We are proud to have been awarded PATHS Model School Status in 2016.
