In the UK, the body responsible for assessing drugs and treatments (NICE) acknowledges the benefits of acupuncture in the treatment of back pain, facial pain, nausea and headaches. The World Health Organisation (WHO) also lists many conditions as having a strong basis in clinical research for acupuncture treatment.
For many patients, the first treatment session lasts around two hours and will start with me taking a full case history. This covers a broad spectrum of your general health background, any operations, any medication taken and onto the specifics of your current condition.
Moving on from your case history I will take your pulse from both wrists and sometimes ask to look at your tongue to help provide information about your present and underlying health conditions from an acupuncture perspective.Any physical injuries will be discussed and if necessary examined with a gentle palpation.

Hopi Ear Candling, also known as Thermal Auricular Therapy is a pleasant, relaxing, non-invasive treatment of the ear. The candles themselves are made from the natural ingredients of beeswax, honey extracts, sage, St John's Wort, chamomile and organically grown flax. The candles work by vaporising these ingredients and causing mild suction in the ear, the vapours gently massage the eardrum and ear canal.

Went to see Maddie today as have been suffering with locked-up lower back for past 4 weeks. Did a 1 hour session of electric acupuncture, and it worked almost straight away. Really impressed! Really good value for money too, and the back strapping she did has helped loads. Really glad I found thus place, and more than happy to recommend

I lived in China for several years, and have seen the benefit of acupuncture for many different issues, especially pain (eg my husband who’s an engineering manager with compressed vertebrae after a snowboarding accident – now cured of the headaches and neck aches he used to have).
Who knows how it works, but ultimately, from what I’ve seen with friends, there’s something in it for sure.

I have been visiting Maddy for 7 years initially after a back injury for pain relief. After my first consultation it became apparent that she could help me with a number of ongoing health issues such as eczema, asthma and chronic period pains.
