I have been practising Acupuncture for 33 years and Zero Balancing for 28 years. I work with either, or both, of these modalities to help clients achieve their treatment goals. These may focus on a physical symptom or injury but in practice are often more complex than one problematic issue. Treatment goals can evolve and often include life goals, such as making a transition in work or relationship, or creating optimum functioning and wellbeing.
I originally trained in ecology and worked with local groups in the urban conservation movement. Through my own transformative experience of acupuncture treatment, I began studying at The College of Traditional Acupuncture, gaining my Licence to Practise in 1992.
The ancient wisdom of the Five Element Acupuncture system taught there shared many of principles of balance and holism basic to ecology, which appealed to my desire to look for the 'bigger picture' and the deeper processes which underlie it.I went on to study TCM with John and Angie Hicks; humanistic psychology techniques at Spectrum; Tai Chi with the Rising Dragon School, Qi Gong with Wang Zhixing and TMW (Tai Chi Movements for Wellbeing).

I initially trained for just over 3 years at the College of Traditional Acupuncture in Leamington Spa [now based in Hatton, Warwickshire], which is one of Europe's most established and widely respected acupuncture colleges. I graduated from there with a Licentiate in Acupuncture and a B.A. [Hons] in Acupuncture from Oxford Brookes University.
I studied acupuncture for three years at the College of Traditional Acupuncture (CTA) which was based in Warwick. Over time I have expanded my practitioner skill and knowledge through regular attendance at specialist training events.
These sessions have included instruction which have focussed on the use of electro-acupuncture in the treatment of muscular skeletal problems, auricular acupuncture, trigger point techniques and the use of acupuncture in relation to male and female fertility support. With another colleague I acted as the West Midlands joint regional coordinator for The British Acupuncture Council.

I graduated from The Acupuncture Academy in 2016 and was awarded a Merit for the Professional Licentiate in Acupuncture, as well as Commended for my clinical work. My three years training was extensive and covered all aspects of Chinese medical and Acupuncture theory, with a focus on the Five Element approach.
