We are a dispensing practice for over 5,600 of our patients and offer outreach services from University Derby and Burton hospital (UDBH). We also run independent services such as Audiology, Ultrasound, private physiotherapy and osteopathy. Continually striving to improve our patient services and facilities to create a safe and effective environment reducing potential risks.

We pride ourselves on our friendly, approachable and accommodating patient- centred setting.
Services
It covers the needs of people who are deaf/Deaf, blind, or deafblind, or who have a learning disability. This includes interpretation or translation for people whose first language is British Sign Language. It can also be used to support people who have aphasia, autism or a mental health condition which affects their ability to communicate.
Disclaimer: NHS England require that the new earnings of doctors engaged in the practice is publicised, and the required disclosure us shown below.

However it should be noted that the prescribed method for calculating earnings is potentially misleading because it takes no account of how much time doctors spend working in the practice, and should not be used to form any judgement about GP earnings, nor to make any comparison with any other practice.
We offer an appointment system. Our aim is to see each patient at the time designated. You will not be kept waiting for more than 20 minutes after your appointment time without an explanation from the staff. You have the right to see your patient records, subject to legal limitations, by appointment only.
The Practice takes it very seriously if a member of staff or one of the doctors or nursing team is treated in an abusive or violent way. The Practice supports the government's 'Zero Tolerance' campaign for Health Service Staff. This states that GPs and their staff have a right to care for others without fear of being attacked or abused.
Also, prior to registration, you will be asked to complete a New Patient Questionnaire giving details of past history, current medication, family history etc. This acts as a useful source of information until permanent records arrive from your previous GP. You will also need to bring photographic ID and proof of address.

Local health centre, plenty of space and seating. Receptionists are helpful, plenty of Doctors and nurses on site. One pharmacy inside building and one in lower ground floor, outside on the way to the carpark at the rear of the building.

Not good at all. Called at 8 o'clock in the morning asking for a call back and they called me back at 2 o'clock to say a doctor was going to call me between 3 and 5:30
I called back and asked what was going on after waiting at home for a phone call all day for them to say we will call tomorrow afternoon. Been at this doctor all my life and have struggled with undiagnosed mental health issues that have only been sorted at 24 after being referred to mental health team by someone else I was diagnosed with ADHD. I have been suffering my whole life and had great difficulty in school and with my whole

Really slow about doing things. Appears to be reception staff but blame gets passed elsewhere when calling back 7 hours later. Only there due to boundary issues.

So I have been sat here since 4;05pm. Appointment at 4:10pm. It’s now 4;56pm and STILL NOT GONE IN !!!!!
No explanation No apology. No information !!!
Totally unacceptable Balance street. Sort out your doctors time management !! Very few of us have an hour to spare to sit in a waiting room especially when not feeling at our best!!!!
OR at least have the decency to offer a public apology to those of us waiting !!!
When I enquired I was simply told The reason for the delay is “ The doctor is thorough!??????
Well then apportion your appointment time’s accordingly in future !!!!!!!

Past experiences with the surgery were perfect they couldn't do more but within the last year its gone down.
Firstly tell the receptionist what your going for which feels wrong given none of them are medical staff.
If it's bad(ish) you will get a lucky dip doctor usually one has never seen you before, or a advanced practice nurse who will fob you off and send you on your way feeling none the better.
Is this the future of general practice god help us.
The practice manager used to be a receptionist and I just have no faith in them.

It's a really good place. You can phone in the morning and get an appointment straight away. You only see your own gp unless he is not there. Which I like and think it's a good idea as your own gp knows you and understands you. It would be good to be able to get bloodtests booked more easily. That is the only thing that needs addressing. For me anyway.
