Melrose day nurseries in Acton, Sudbury, and Wembley are privately owned and run by experienced and passionate directors Rose Lee and Melanie Johnson. Our day nurseries are fully regulated by Ofsted and we follow the Early Years Curriculum. Our aim is treat every child as an individual and help them be confident in everything they do.

We provide a warm, happy and safe environment to stimulate all of your child's developmental needs and by providing an extensive range of activities including mathematics, letters and sounds, music, cooking, dance, art, literacy, football, discovery and computers we will enable your child to reach their full potential.
Services
Rose and Melanie believe in creating a warm welcoming environment where everybody who enters the nursery feels valued and part of the setting. Through building strong relationships with each family that joins the setting and by ensuring each practitioner who joins a Melrose team is passionate about proving high quality childcare the Melrose standard is maintained.
Our private nursery school in Acton, founded in 2008, is housed in the beautiful St Gabriel's Church Hall. School director Rose and her dedicated team have built a superb learning environment complete with an art room, a music room and a reading room. This breaks out into an exciting hidden enclosed garden which children can access at all times.
Melrose childminders are working in partnership with Melrose Nursery School and are located opposite the nursery. For children aged up to 30 months, our childminding service based in Acton is perfect for families struggling with choosing between a domestic childminder working from your home or placing their child in a nursery setting.
We believe every child and their family has different needs. To support each family to join the nursery we start with a tour of our facilities. Once you're ready to start we offer a home visit and ask you to join your child in the nursery for as long as it takes for you and your child to feel comfortable in the nursery this maybe for a short time on the first day or the first 2 weeks, as every child and every family is different.
All Melrose nurseries offer the National Education Grant (NEG) for 3 to 4 year olds and the National Education Grant (NEG) for 2 year olds. Melrose Nurseries can assist parents with their NEG 2 applications. There is no cost for access to the NEG hours, fees only occur for any additional hours after your child's allocated 15 hours.

The team are brilliant. The staff are very attentive and are always cheery and absolutely wonderful to work with. The team handles all situations professionally and with genuine care. They work with the children and they teach them how to be independent. I am absolutely delighted that my son has been there from almost day 1 and he really enjoys going. This was the best thing I could ever do for my son. He has improved and grown so much just by going to the nursery.
The facilities are brilliant (especially their outdoor areas) and my little boy has loved attending. The meals made onsite are nutritious

Best nursery ever! So lucky to find it.
Great facilities, lovely location and dedicated staff. Newly refurbished building with excellent facilities, Onsite chef sets this nursery apart from others in the area
Our son has been attending since he was 10 months old and his speech and confidence has grown. He was one of the youngest there at the time he joined, and I was a bit worried that he would require lots of attention being so young, as he had just started crawling and was starting a habit of fighting his naps. Even though he was very young, they helped him join in activities safely where he

We have two children at Melrose, our son nearly 4yrs and daughter nearly 2.5yrs. I highly recommend this nursery! If you are looking for a nursery in or around North Acton you have to arrange to see Melrose.
There are several areas in which this nursery sets itself apart from others:
Their partnership with Mini Melrose, a dedicated baby house which our daughter flourished in, despite starting her placement there the June after the first Covid-19 lockdown. She had spent very limited time with others due to restrictions and was noticeably hesitant, even distressed around strangers and when separated

The staff are so lovely and genuinely care and love all the children. I was anxious about starting my little one but they made it so much easier for us both and she loves it! The managers are very accommodating and always available. Would 100 % recommend this nursery!

Our son attended this nursery for 3 consecutive years. During his journey he was supervised by 3 different caring and friendly key persons. They did an amazing job!
The level of care was outstanding. Members of staff not only watch after your children during the day, but they also provide useful advices/suggestions regarding child development (i.e. potty training, sleep training, healthy eating, etc.)
During the 3 years our son spent there, we could notice a clear improvement in term of administration and infrastructure. Entire rooms have been refurbished, kitchen has been renewed and secured

After looking at lots of nurseries, this was the one for me! Never regretted my decision, my daughter loves it, clearly the nursery team love the children very sad my daughter is leaving to go to school, I wish she could stay safely with in Melrose until she is an adult, if only they had a school.
