Physiotherapy is a well recognised and safe treatment for muscular skeletal problems including back pain, whiplash and joint/muscle problems. Pilates is a method of exercise designed to improve abdominal and back strength, improve posture and prevent back and neck pain. Display screen assessments are required by law, importantly they are vital for the wellbeing of office workers.
We are seeing patients face to face, we are wearing PPE and ask that our patients wear a face mask too. We are lateral flow testing twice a week and ask that patients take a lateral flow test prior to treatment, if possible. I have Zoom, so I can do physiotherapy assessments, give advice and supervise exercise.

Sara Gordon started her business at The Health Club and Spa in 2000 and has developed an excellent reputation amongst local people, GPs and consultants. She moved her business to Priory Farm in 2021 and is delighted with the new, improved facilities. Sara qualified as a chartered physiotherapist in 1987 and has worked continually in the NHS, private hospitals and, since 1996, in private practice.
At your first visit, your physiotherapist will fully assess your problem and explain the findings to you. Your treatment plan will be discussed, with all your options explained. It may include 'hands on' treatment such as manipulation, mobilisations, massage or soft tissue work, it may include electrotherapy or acupuncture and you will be given advice and home exercises so that you can progress more quickly.
Display screen assessments are required by law, Health and Safety (Display Screen Equipment) Regulations 1992 (amended 2002), but as importantly they are vital for the wellbeing of office workers. If a worker is seated correctly, knows how to use their chair (so often not the case) with correct placement of screen, mouse and phone they will have fewer work related muscular problems (formally known as RSI).
One of the main causes of incontinence is weak pelvic floor muscles. If your incontinence is due to a weak pelvic floor, try physiotherapy first to strengthen these muscles before considering an operation or the use of pads for a "sensitive bladder". Research has shown that pelvic floor muscle training is cheaper and more effective than one of the main incontinence drugs, and intensive pelvic floor exercises is more effective than surgery.
Physiotherapy is a well recognised and safe treatment for muscular skeletal problems including back pain, whiplash and joint or muscle problems. It involves detailed assessment, diagnosis and treatment. The treatment will consist of hands on eg manipulation or massage, possibly electrotherapy and exercises and advice.

My Consultant Surgeon recommended Sara to me following hip replacement. Her treatment, extensive knowledge and advice has proved invaluable and I have progressed from being unable to get in and out of the bath, or easily up and down from the floor to now walking easily and horse riding regularly. Thank you Sara. I wouldn't go anywhere else.
