We need to hold personal information about your child on our computer system and in paper records to help us with their educational needs. We are responsible for its accuracy and safe-keeping. Please help to keep your child's records up to date by informing us of any change of circumstances. School staff have access to your child's records to enable them to do their jobs.
From time to time information may be shared with others involved in your child's care, if it is necessary. For example, our Education Authority will be advised when you move address. Anyone with access to your child's records is properly trained in confidentiality issues and is governed by a legal duty to keep their details secure, accurate and up to date.

This group of parents, along with Mrs Hutchinson and Miss Bailie, meets three times in the year to discuss various aspects of school life and to offer the perspective of a parent! This time we chatted about the parents' evenings in September and the parent consultations coming up in October, giving feedback about these and offering thoughts on how they could be developed.
Just before the half-term break, the Parent Focus Group met for their second time this school year. We had a useful and productive discussion about a variety of issues that affect our children, including EA guidance on transgender issues - the current practices of Strandtown Primary School and the Love for Life programme that is delivered to our P6 and P7 pupils.
Our Strandtown Ski Trip will now run every other year. This will mean that following the 2021 trip the next ski trip will not be until 2023. Trips in general are becoming very costly to parents so we are attempting to make payments more manageable by giving longer payment periods which makes the trip accessible to more children.
The children will be staying, full board, in Sea You Hotel in Noordwijk. During the stay the children will get to visit a number of places of interest & enjoy many activities. Other activities included could be swimming, crazy golf, trampoline park, beach games, ten pin bowling etc. Our Holland trips have always been a fantastic & enjoyable experience for the children.
Please say hello to your new House Captains and Vice Captains. They all undertook a gruelling interview process to obtain their positions and they are more than capable of helping you with any of your queries, concerns or House needs! They will be speaking to assemblies in the weeks following the half-term break but you can also find your House Captains' pictures in the Black and White hall if you would like to speak to them about something.
