Children, staff and governors worked together to determine the aims, values and vision of the school. Our new mission statement is inspired by John, Chapter 10, Verse 10: "I have come so that they may have life, and have it to the full". We will create an exciting, inspiring and nurturing environment that our pupils want to come to every day.
You have just discovered a real gem of a school. We are located in the middle of a beautiful village in the heart of the Cotswolds. Sherborne CofE Primary is a small, friendly and vibrant school which places its children at its very core. The aims of the school are very simple. We want our children to enjoy coming to school; to become inquisitive and independent learners and; to provide children with an unforgettable learning experience.
We are proud to offer three classes. Each class has a maximum of 24 pupils, demonstrating our commitment to small class sizes throughout the school. Our Hedgehog Class of Reception and Year 1 pupils is taught by Mrs Baxter and supported by a teaching assistant, Mrs Denscombe. Our Fox Class is made up of Year 2, 3 and 4 pupils and taught by Mrs Finley.
We are Reception and Year 1 and we are currently a class of 19 pupils, a teacher and a teachiong assistant. We have a lovely classroom environment which has three interconnecting areas, plenty of carpet space and a kitchen! In Hedgehog class we firmly believe in child-led learning, which in the Early Years, focuses on open-access to all our resources and the means to learn through play.
We are a class of 18 pupils from Years 2, 3 and 4. We enjoy working hard as a team to develop positive learning habits. We also enjoy asking questions, challenging ourselves, staying active and having fun together. In Fox Class, children are encouraged to embrace a challenge and to celebrate progress.
