Knockinaam Lodge
We invite you in to our 19th century country house hotel, fully restored to create a stylish and relaxed ambience for our guests as they enjoy stunning scenery and food served in our 3 AA rosette restaurant. Knockinaam Lodge is the only luxury boutique hotel in Dumfries and Galloway, tucked into the south west corner of Scotland.
Services
This double aspect sea view room is one of the brightest rooms in the hotel, capturing both the morning and afternoon sun as well as stunning sunsets. It maybe set as either a super king or twin bedded room. The bathroom has a large bath from which you can look out the window and watch the waves coming onto the shore.
A charmingly intimate restaurant, candlelit in the evening or light and cheery during the day, with a stunning outlook across the lawn that reaches to the beach and the Irish sea beyond. The ambiance is set, and your dining experience can begin. Dine in the gentle ambience of Knockinaam's restaurant and savour informal dining at its very best.
Chef Tony Pierce and the kitchen team at Knockinaam Lodge have one objective in mind each day and that is to please the guest. Tony has been doing just that at Knockinaam Lodge for 25 years and during that time has trained many young chefs the traditional methods of great cooking. With 3 AA Rosettes comes an expectation of high standards and the team seek to live up to that every day.
At Knockinaam Lodge we enjoy our wine and owner David Ibbotson has carefully built up a superlative collection of over 350 wines from around the world. Many guests comment that a stay at the hotel is not complete unless you enjoy and savour the hotel's magnificent wine cellar, which with so many to choose from is a good reason to return!
Getting married at Knockinaam is not only special - but easy, no matter where in the world you come from. Both civil and religious wedding ceremonies are possible at Knockinaam Lodge. If you choose a civil ceremony, we will apply for the attendance of a Registrar or Humanist Celebrant on your behalf.

Lovely setting, with its own beach. Open the bedroom window and we could hear the waves! Log fires, and lots of traditional character: makes us feel we are really getting away from it all. (Possibly why it was chosen by Churchill in WWII to hold his secret meeting with Eisenhower). Cliff top walks and little bays and woodland walks within easy reach. The staff are really friendly and the food is lovely. We have been several times at different times of the year. Never disappoints!

We had such an enjoyable short stay here, tucked away from the world in its own wee cove. Friendly, professional staff, comfortable rooms and delicious food (dietary requirements accommodated).

Beautiful setting, staff very friendly. Set menu was spectacular. Every course was freshly cooked and had amazing flavours. The wine we choose , although one of the cheaper ones fully complemented our meal. It was a gift for us and we wouldn't normally spend that much on a meal but it was certainly worth the experience. We intend to return to try the lunchtime menu next summer. Thank you all.

Excellent Afternoon Tea served in patio area by the beach of this renowned hotel. Nicole was most attentive and apologetic when service was a little slower due to particularly busy day. Wonderfully relaxing afternoon and the flora in the garden was awash with butterflies. You could see a chef picking produce for dinner. Our granddaughter really enjoyed the wooden play area. We will certainly be returning for lunch or dinner soon. Knockinaam is a cut above the rest.
