Who had a small corner shop typical of that era selling all sorts of consumables and, with the aid of a brick built natural fuel fired oven, use to bake her own bread to retail. This shop then passed down to my great grandmother who continued to bake her own bread. Over the years since 1969 we have steadily invested in the Bakery.
Initially it used to surround the retail area, the retail area was only around 15% of the size it is now. We kept expanding the retail area while moving the production into the basement, which is around the same size as the retail area, this required the removal of several walls and a lot of structural work being undertaken both in the Retail area as you see it now and the Basement Bakery.

Services
It was always my fathers ideal to provide a range of bakery and confectionery products second to none and because of this he had the respect of all within the trade. We have been, and always will be, committed to the same ideals and if for any reason you, the customer feel we have not achieved this aim, whether it be product quality or the standard of service we ask you to let us know immediately so we can rectify the problem.
We have available daily, fresh produced quality bread, barms and morning goods. We also have a full range of pies and savouries which can be delivered baked or unbaked and frozen. A full range of cream and fancy cakes are available to compliment your order. Delivery within a 10 mile radius of Lymm can be incorporated into our normal delivery route at no extra charge (deliveries to other areas possible dependent upon requirements).
Sextons of Lymm was established in 1969 and is now owned and run by Philip Sexton, the fifth generation to continue in the bakery trade, and his wife Sara Sexton. During the years of trading since 1969 there have been many changes the last being the inclusion of a coffee shop and deli range. We have just had a refit with new flooring, counters and signage to push us into the next decade.

Not a great experience today. I advised the assistant I had a gluten and dairy intolerance to be offered a gluten free coffee cake which I bought. Unfortunately I have discovered it has cream inside which I am uncertain if it’s dairy free. Also was sold some cold pies when I wanted them hot the best part about the order was the cold drink.

We passed the shop earlier today whilst out walking the dog. It’s the most well presented bakery that I’ve seen for years and I some involuntarily ended up at the bread counter.
I asked the assistant if they… had any sourdough loaves and was delighted when she offered me a choice.
I settled on a cheese and chilli sourdough bloomer, declining the offer to have it sliced.
The aroma got the better of me when I arrived home and so I had a cheeky slice with a cup of tea. I’m generally quite good at articulating any experience however in this instance I genuinely can’t

Amazing service and delicious cakes. Ordered a birthday cake and a selection of try bakes/cupcakes as a birthday and a new home gift. Both recipients delighted with their cakes and couldn't wait to tuck in! Lovely way to send a treat to friends when I am unable to visit them due to lockdown restrictions.
